Our purpose is to equip the Christian Saints with materials and resources to make you more effective in growing the body of Christ through teaching, preaching, evangelism, planting churches and church growth.
The Sharing Christ Ministries has evolved over the years, as far back as 1970, as an unofficial Christian work. There was a direct tie-in with the Billy Graham films. The Graham Film Ministry was very predominant as they would rent major theatres and have the viewing of world pictures with feature length films. We coordinated the steering committee, which also involved many pastors of various denominations, to provide counselors for the first time decision people and then the follow-up to make sure these people were established in a local church. This continued on for a number of years.
Then it involved into the work of Campus Crusade for Christ. Their ministry was to have evangelism during Spring Break in Daytona Beach. As thousands of persons would come here for Spring Break, Campus Crusade staff would come to conduct evangelism. The Sharing Christ Ministry was the city coordinator for seven straight consecutive years.
This involved many churches, civic groups, and all forms of evangelistic training and outreaches. In any single year, within two weeks time, there was over 16,000 first time decisions recorded as a result of this work.
From there an opportunity presented itself to launch the ministry called Time To Share. This was a comprehensive radio ministry on WNDB radio and so for over 25 years there was a radio ministry called Time To Share. This was a radio program that was produced each week. A 30 minute program providing inspiration, Bible teaching and how to live the victorious Christian life.
From that evolved the creation of certain publications. The book, Think On These Things, a devotional that was endorsed and a Forward written by Dr. Pat Robertson. Think On These Things was published by the 700 Club and has literally been distributed around the world.
The next major publication was Living Evangelism Curriculum, an entire system of material, workbooks and Sharing Christ tools for the equipping of Christian believers to share their faith as a way of life.
One other part of the ministry was the establishing of Daytona Christian helpline. A 24 hour helpline providing for non-Christians or Christians to seek out help based on the Word of God and prayer and the ministry of the Holy Spirit. A training course offered by Dr. Skip Hunt, a college accredited course, 72 hour counselor training was implemented throughout the city.
In addition to all this, there was numerous, city-wide evangelistic meetings and many evangelistic efforts with various churches and other events; all centered on the theme of lifting up the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus said, "If I be lifted up, I will draw all people unto myself."
